It&#8217;s been over five months since we returned home but I&#8217;ve only found time to work on it the past two months, off and on.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Road Scholars in China, Part 1: Sightseeing&#8221; is about 12 minutes long and is in full HD so it is best viewed on a large screen \u2013 or at least something larger than a smartphone.<\/p>\n<p>Tech stuff: I shot this in a mix of HD and 4k using a Panasonic GH4 camera (and occasionally my iPhone 6!), and several Panasonic lenses including the 12-35mm f2.8 zoom. Audio was recorded primarily with a Rode VideoMic Pro but I also used the built-in camera mics and a Zoom H1. PremierePro, AfterEffects, Audition, and Photoshop were all used in post production.<\/p>\n<p>Credits.<br \/>\nMusic was provided by two of the young students who did a traditional instrument demonstration for us in Luoyang. Unfortunately, I do not have their names.<\/p>\n<p>Audio for the rain downpour sequence at the Chongqing was provided by www.freesfx.co.uk (mixed down by me from multiple clips).<\/p>\n<p>Most still photos are by my wife, Kay. Occasionally, though, I need a shot that neither she nor I got so I find a third party. First I go to our fellow travelers and I was able to use photos by Eric Slutz (Forbidden City) and Dona Pluta (Pudong area at night, Shanghai).
