Rattled by Trump, a parade of US allies visit China

Beijing is fast becoming the new hotspot for America’s traditional allies from Europe to Latin America. Uruguayan President Yamandú Orsi is in China for a state visit, meeting Chinese leader Xi Jinping to deepen trade and investment ties. He’s the first Latin American leader to visit this year, joining a wave of top-level visits from the UK, Canada, Finland, and France. This diplomatic flurry comes amid growing discomfort with US foreign policy under Donald Trump and shifting global alignments that Beijing is eager to frame as proof of a “new world order.” CNN’s Kristie Lu Stout reports.
